Reluctant Spring

They say "April showers bring flowers in May."

But I don't know if I see it that way.

April showers bring joy in the now.

For joy can be found in the grayness, somehow.

From the ground full of death, life rises once more.

And that is what all of the dancing is for.

Seek, like children, and treasures you'll find.

Earth will be green; sun brightly shine.

Be amazed and wonder at all things new born.

Hope is a gift for all those who mourn.

Wishing you a spring of blessed hope,
and peace that surpasses all understanding.
With love,
The Bagleys

(Poem inspired by my reading of The Prophetic Imagination by Walter Brueggemann.)
