Hide

For all the worn and downtrodden, I just want you to know: You are not alone. You do not have to be strong all the time. You don't have to join every battle in this war-weary world. Take care of your heart.

When you're struggling just to get through the next few minutes without suffocating on horror

It's okay to hide.

When your children are small and need you every second of the day and your mama-heart is stretching and growing and changing; when you want to embrace and adopt the whole world even with all its sorrow but the burden is bringing darkness to your soul

It's okay to hide.

When you have loved and grown and lost someone; the sting is there, the wound reopens and never quite heals. Your doubts encompass every waking second of the day

It's okay to hide.

When illness has bound you and taken its daily toll, for days or months or even years; when there are no easy answers or simple solutions

It's okay to rest.

It's okay to turn off the news.

It's okay to exit twitter, close facebook, put the internet on a shelf

For a while, just a while

Need.

Find the ones you love. Embrace. Let out that long sigh; shoulders slumped.

It's not your fight today. You will be strong again but you are weak now. There is no shame in it. Let your heart be soothed and healed.

Hold on. Let go of the baton. There are others strong of heart and full of spirit. Let them carry on for now. You can join when you are ready, for one day they'll be tired as you.

We bear each others burdens.

We carry one another.

We take turns being vulnerable.

It's your turn now.

It's time to retreat and restore.

Go, now.

Follow the path down to the cleft in the rock.

And hide.

It's going to be okay.

Blessings go with you.
